Twisted
A.T.P & Majesty - 4.20.96 - Chicago
Look at this lineup. It is completely out of hand. Hyperactive, DJ Skull, Joey Beltram, Damon Wild, Dave Clark, Sven Vath, Mike Dearborn, James Christian. Beat that!
Hyperactive Set.
WMV 6MB, 2:18
The audio quality isn't as good as I would like, but when does DJ Hyperactive NOT throw down?
Hyperactive Interview
WMV 6MB, 5:03
Check out the old school "chroma key" effect during all these interviews. Hyperactive also gives props to Jeff Mills, Robert Hood, the Surgeon, and pretty much everyone else at this party. Gives good advice for the upcoming DJ. He would be Granola cereal. Watch the clip!
FACT: Hyperactive was mentioned in Daft Punk's "Teachers"

DJ Skull Interview
WMV 3.5MB, 3:08
Skull talks about his influences being Lil Louis and Derrick May. Watch for the cameo by Mike Dearborn. Skull don't know nuthin' 'bout no breakfast cereal.

Joey Beltram Set
WMV 6MB, 2:23
Joey spins some classics in this bit.

Joey Beltram Interview
WMV 3MB, 2:15
Joey Beltram mentions that Tony Humphries and Todd Terry were his inspirations. Joey chooses "fruity pebbles" as the cereal he would be.
FACT: Joey Beltram started DJing in '83, and is also mentioned in "Teachers" by Daft Punk.

Damon Wild Set
WMV 8MB, 3:17
This clip does little justice to how hard that set actually rocked.
FACT: Damon Wild has 2 new 12" to be released on Synewave in February. Listen to past tracks there too.

Damon Wild Interview
WMV 3MB, 2:42
Damon talks about being in paris the night before, but feels this party was better. He would be "Wheaties" - Respect to Chicago.

Mike Dearborn Set
WMV 18MB, 7:01
Mike was always a good DJ and producer, but MUCH repect for promoting the best parties back in the day. Some good shots of the actual party in this clip. He drops some ESP tracks too. "Gasoline" maybe, or "Basketball Heros"
FACT: Mike Dearborn was also mentioned on Daft Punk's "Teachers"

Mike Dearborn interview
WMV 3MB, 2:55
Mike mentions Steve Hurley, DJ Pierre, Roy Davis, and REAL old school Chicago crew as influences. "Midwest is the best" Mr. Dearborn chooses "Co Co Puffs"
FACT: Mike Dearborn's first record came out in 89

Sven Vath Set
WMV 13MB, 5:16
I really didn't know what to expect from Sven Vath. I heard some of his older stuff, but didn't really get into it. His set really kept the party pumped up. He gave me a copy of "accident in paradise" that night, and signed it. It wasn't anything like what he spun. Maybe that disk didn't sell well (it came out in '93) so that might be why he was giving them away. I havent seen the disk for a long time, but it may turn up.

Sven Vath Interview
WMV 4MB, 3:29
I like how the interviewer turns on a bit of an accent at the beginning of this interview. Listen to the part where he says DJ's have to spread their 'wibes' all over the country. That's funny shit.
FACT: Sven Vath started DJing in '81 at his parents' club.

Dave Clarke Interview
WMV 2MB, 1:56

James Christian
WMV 10MB, 3:55
James Christian got the shaft this night. Watch the video. I love it when the sun comes up.
